The Last of Us Part I - Boston Museum Exterior - by Jonathan BENAINOUS

This gallery showcases the work I have done on the Museum exterior during the production of The Last of Us Part I.

As a Senior Environment Texture Artist, my responsibilities included the creation of materials and shaders as well as all the blend work and application of the shaders, uv'ing, and additional modeling work and set dressing.
I was also in charge of the integration and shader work of most assets outsourced to our partners.

For this area, I worked with David Budlong, Modeler and Level Artist, to create this square and street leading to the museum entrance.
Based on references and photos we tried to recreate the iconic Boston museum, while respecting the key elements such as the brick façade, the ornate clock and the wooden belfry.
Materials were fully made using Substance 3D Designer - And while these were made for this level, most of them were also put in the base library and can be found throughout the game.

Naughty Dog is a very collaborative studio and as such, various assets, textures and materials are sampled from a shared library. Many thanks to the various other artists on the team for their contribution!
